Newborn Nursing Skills Simulator
The Newborn Nursing Skills Simulator meets the objectives of the NPR® course curriculum (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and has soft, durable skin with delicate appearance and realistic anatomical landmarks. It allows training of realistic chest compressions, airway management, chest tube insertion, NG tube placement, suction techniques and intravenous access.
Benefits
General information
The simulator allows oral intubation with an ET tube of a size up to 3.5 mm. Furthermore, jaw-thrust and Sellick manoeuvre (cricoid pressure) can be trained. The left nostril accepts an NG tube (8 FR) for training of tube placement.
Airway management
The manikin features two interchangeable chest inserts -a bilateral lung with visually chest rise and a lung with unilateral chest movement to simulate a collapsed lung and mainstem intubation. Train BVM ventilation, Sellick manoeuvre (cricoid pressure) and ET tube insertion as well as positive pressure ventilation and the auscultation of lung sounds during ventilation.
Umbilicus
The lifelike patented umbilicus made of soft, realistic material can be attached and detached easily, and offers venous and arterial access to practice blood withdrawal or infusion of fluids.
Birth defects
The scope of delivery includes also two different mountable birth defects: An omphalocele and a neural tube defect (myelomeningocele) mountable birth defects: An omphalocele and a neural tube defect (myelomeningocele).
